Faith Avery Faith Avery was born and raised in the small town of Howard City, Michigan and has lived in Michigan all of her life. Faith has two children: Kaitlyn, 16 and Jordan, 12. She is married to Russell Avery and he has 3 children: Nicole, 20, Ashley 18 and Katie, 12. Faith attends Harvest Bible Chapel in West Olive, MI with her family and has been very blessed to be a part of an awesome body of Christ. She is active in her children's activities and enjoys scrapbooking, reading, traveling and spending quality time with her family and their three dogs. Faith was raised by Christian parents and accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. As an adult, she began a more meaningful relationship with Christ and is continuing her journey of spiritual growth. Faith loves people and loves helping and advocating for others. She earned her Associate Degree in Business Management/Administrative Services from Davenport College of Business in Grand Rapids, MI. She spent 18 years in management in different industries and thought that's what she would continue to do until retirement. However, God had different plans for her. She is a cancer survivor and began a new journey five years ago, realizing that life truly is all about relationships and sharing God's love with others. The things that God has allowed Faith to go through during her life have prepared her for HIS plan. Faith enjoys being an active listener, listening to people "tell their story" and sharing God's love and grace with them. God led Faith to be the Director of ATLAS of City On A Hill Ministries and she is excited to see how God will use her by walking alongside others and being the hands and feet of Jesus. AmyJo Pleune AmyJo is married and lives with her husband, Joe, in West Olive, MI. Until recently, AmyJo has invested the majority of her time in homeschooling her two adopted children, Esther (10) and Maximus (6). AmyJo graduated from Hope College and completed her Masters in Social Work at GVSU. She currently serves with her husband as senior high youth directors at South Olive CRC. Activities that make her happy are organic cooking, travel and culture, creative down time with family, painting things, a hot fire and a good book. AmyJo is passionate about sharing and living out the Truth of God's Grace. She is excited for the opportunity to work with ATLAS to encourage others through prayer, counsel and Christian discipleship. Jan Dokter
Jan and her husband Chuck have been married for 36 years. They have three children, all of them married to wonderful spouses. Jan and Chuck are expecting their 8th grandchild in May of 2011 and feel very blessed! Twelve years ago, Jan's church went through a Vision Discernment process and that process changed her life. She was challenged to view the church's ministry and her ministry through God's eyes. As her vision changed, God gave Jan several experiences in which He used her to touch people with His love and grace. God's power enabled her things she did not think she could do. Jan has learned to obey the Spirit's nudges, believing God will do immeasurably more than she can ask or imagine. Jan's passion to help those who help others is evident in her role as Mentor Coordinator at ATLAS. Jan trains, encourages, and supports mentors as they walk alongside others. Dan Snyder |
